Global telecommunications giant, ZTE has finally entered the Indian market.
They launched six smartphone models and four 3G datacards in the market today.
The smartphones are all priced between Rs5,000 - Rs15,000.
Thr premium phone in the bag is the ZTE Grand X which comes with a 1.2 GHz quad core processor. It has a 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal memory. External memory can be extended upto 32GB.
It is priced at Rs14,999. It will not hit the stores immediately but will be available in the coming days.

All the six phones run on Google's Android operating system.
The company has also announced that it will soon introduce its premium range of smartphones in India for the high-end segment, and that its next generation smartphones would be inspired by company's global smartphone portfolio.
Speaking on the launch, Xu Dejun, CEO of ZTE India, said, "We offer 214 service centres accross the country to address your greviances. We also have a full fledged Research and Development unit to stay up-to-date with the leading technologies. With in-house manufacturing and RnD, we aim to offer quality products at reasonable prices."

"There is a USD 350 million opportunity right now (smartphone and data card market), which is expected to grow to USD one billion in 3-4 years. We definitely want to tap this market," ZTE India Vice-President Yuan Kang said.
They also launched the Swift series of 3G datacards ranging between Rs1500 to Rs2,500 comprising of various speeds and features.
ZTE?ZTE is a Chinese smartphone making company and is the fourth largest handset manufacturer in the world. It's mid-range and low-range phones could be direct competition to direct players like Micromax, Karbonn, Xolo and others.
The company's strategy seems to be to provide high-end features on smartphones at reasonable prices.
With India being a huge emerging market, not to mention a cost-conscious one, it would be interesting to see hoe ZTE does in India.
