Lava is an interesting Indian smartphone manufacturer. It continuously tries to differentiate itself from the other ‘me too’ brands that have flooded the Indian market. Be it launching phones with Intel processors or providing over-the-air updates, there’s always something that the company is up to. Well, if report from folks over at AndroidNova is to be believed, the company might surprise us again by launching a phone powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor. That’s the same processor you find in Nexus 7 tablets. Dubbed as XOLO Play T1000, the phone is expected to be launched this month.
For just a price of Rs 15,999, the phone is decently powerful. Besides the 1.5 GHz quad core Tegra 3 processor, the phone features a 4.7 inch HD (that would be 720p) IPS display along with an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front camera and a 2,000mAh battery. T1000 also comes with 8GB internal memory and 1GB RAM.
The phone is undoubtedly the cheapest Tegra 3 powered device in the Indian market and would give a tough time to Micromax A116 Canvas HD, which although comes with a quad core processor from MediaTek, can’t really match up to the performance of Tegra 3.
