KOLKATA: Luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz has set a new benchmark in performance motoring with the launch of the new E 63 AMG that sports a brute of an engine capable of delivering 557hp raw power to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in a mere 4.2 seconds.
The comprehensively modernised E 63 AMG combines high performance and low fuel consumption with its new efficient engine, new Intelligence Assistance Systems and a new design idiom. The new E 63 AMG was launched by Mercedes-Benz India managing director and CEO Eberhard Kern. "The E 63 AMG combines the attributes of a sports car with the practicality of a luxury sedan. The stunning new design idiom is in line with the new AMG design philosophy.
With this launch, Mercedes-Benz India reiterates the philosophy of Best or Nothing for its customers," he said. Mercedes-Benz India has set 2013 as the year of offensive to reclaim the leadership spot in luxury segment. The only luxury car maker to be present in India till recently, it was overtaken German rivals BMW and Audi. In the first six months, Mercedes-Benz has clawed back to second position and believes it will have the arsenal to launch a bid for the top spot in 2015-16. "We have received phenomenal response for the products launched this year. After pioneering a new segment with A-Class and launching the most sought after luxury executive sedan E-Class, the launch of the new E 63 AMG further reiterates our promise of bringing fascinating cars and providing a memorable brand experience for valued customers of the Three Pointed Star in India," the CEO said.
