Micromax is already one of the biggest Indian players in the smartphone arena and the tech giant is hoping to consolidate its position even further with its new and much improved offering, the Canvas 4. However, Micromax is not the only Indian tech major aiming for the top spot. Karbonn is all set to create waves of its own with its new-age Titanium S6 phablet. Which then is the perfect Indian handset? Read on to find out.
- Form
Canvas 4: 5.5-inch display (rumoured)
Titanium S6: 5.0-inch display (rumoured)
According to all those teasers Micromax has been sending out, the Canvas 4 seems to sport quite a sophisticated design. It's back panel shows off a brushed aluminium finish while its sides seem to be chrome plated. The handset may well have a unibody design and its sleekness add to its good looks. Micromax is likely to make the phone hardy and durable too.
Not much is known about the Titanium S6 but given that it will be placed in the under Rs. 20,000 price range, it is not too likely to sport a metal finish. Rather, we expect it to come with a plastic casing. That is not to say, however, that the handset will not be durable and fit enough for rough use. An added benefit that Karbonn's creation has is its stylus pen.
For now, Micromax wins the form round with its sleek, premium looking handset.
Winner: Canvas 4
- Display
Micromax is believed to give its newbie a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1080 pixels. If the success of Micromax's previous Canvas creations are anything to go by, the handset will ideally offer users sharp, crisp imagery with vibrant colours and deep contrasts. The size of the screen makes it ideal for watching videos and surfing the web on the go as well.
Karbonn is also expected to pack in its 5-inch display with a Full HD resolution of 1080 pixels. The phablet should reproduce vivid colours and clear images, texts and videos. Its stylus pen adds to the Titanium S6's functionality, making it ideal for both work and play.
With similar displays on both handsets, this round ends in a draw.
