LG Nexus 5 may be Coming with Android 5.0 on October 5

There has been plenty of buzz about the Nokia Lumia 1020 that is armed with a whopping 41-megapixel camera today, but what about another seemingly large handset that could very well be unleashed onto the awaiting masses soon? We are referring to the logical follow up to the successful Nexus 4 from LG, where it will arrive under the moniker of LG Nexus 5. We did give some thought earlier this year on how it would look like, but at least the details are clearer today compared to a few months back.

Just a couple of months back, an executive from LG claimed that the South Korean consumer electronics giant would be giving the Nexus 5 a pass, but that statement did not have any effect on the rumor mill which continued to churn out stories that tout LG to be the hardware manufacturer behind the next Nexus device, which will obviously be the Nexus 5.

Korean site Daum is the one behind the latest rumors, touting that the Nexus 5 will be constructed with the LG Optimus G2 as the point of reference, pretty much similar to how the LG Nexus 4 was heavily inspired by the LG Optimus G.

If this is the case, then the LG Nexus 5 is going to be a surefire powerhouse where hardware specifications are concerned, especially when you consider that the Optimus G2 already packs in plenty a 5.2” Full HD IPS LCD display, a super thin bezel, up to 3GB RAM, a 13-megapixel shooter, and a speedy quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.

Despite the Optimus G2 tipped to arrive with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean in tow, Daum says that the LG Nexus 5 will be the vessel for Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, delivering the stock Android user experience just like all the other Nexus devices.
